SmarTire for Passenger Vehicles
SmarTire is no longer actively soliciting sales and distribution opportunities for its passenger vehicles product.
Using sophisticated in wheel sensors, advanced displays and state-of-the-art wireless technology, SmarTire has developed the industry's leading tire monitoring product for cars, light trucks, sport utility vehicles and multi purpose vans. SmarTire offers three display options to suit a variety of vehicles styles, dashboard configurations and consumer needs. SmarTire's Full Function Displays can also be individually programmed to suit specific vehicle applications.
Sophisticated technology made simple
SmarTire products come with four tire Transmitters, one for each wheel position. The lightweight Transmitter is secured on the wheel with a steel strap and is identified by colour coded rings on the tire valve. The Transmitters are uniquely programmed to transmit to the SmarTire Receiver that has four colour-coded warning lights corresponding to the colour-coded valve rings. Installation of SmarTire's Transmitters is easy and should be done by qualified tire professional.
Valve mount Transmitters are also available for original equipment and car accessory applications. Valve mount transmitters are built for specific wheel profiles and therefore not available for aftermarket applications.
Compact receiver and basic display
SmarTire's compact receiver mounts easily to your dash windshield or central console. The Basic LED Display bezel clips onto the receiver and no programming is required. Simply plug into the lighter adapter and the system is ready to go. The Basic Display provides two warnings to the driver in the event of pressure loss. The first warning, a "Low Pressure Alert" is factory set at 22 psi (1.53 bar) and provides the driver with an audible alarm and a red illuminated light indicating the affected tire. The second warning, a "Low Pressure Warning" is factory set at 18 psi (1.25 bar) and is identified by a repeated audible alarm and a flashing red light, repeated every minute for the affected tire. This continues until the tire condition is corrected.
Full function and remote displays
For drivers wanting more detailed tire monitoring data, SmarTire offers either a Full Function Display or a Full Function Remote Display. These products offer digital pressure and temperature information through a fully programmable LCD display. The Full Function Displays automatically identify the nature and location of pressure or temperature irregularities and allows the driver to read the tire temperature and pressure status by scrolling through each tire position.
Three levels of warnings are provided including an audible and visual indication of a deviation from required pressure, a significant drop in tire pressure levels and, excessively high temperature. The Full Function Remote Display offers the same important information and alerts, but allows for a number of installation options.
